First Presbyterian Church partners with eight other congregations from the Rivermont area to collect food and financial resources for those in need in this community. This Rivermont Area Emergency Food Pantry (RAEFP) has been around since the 1990s. "Clients" are referred to the RAEFP through social services and the neighborhood churches and receive food kits. FPCLY hosts annual food drives (affectionally, called the "Orange Cart" drive as donated items are placed in an orange grocery cart located in the foyer) and has multiple weeks in the year where we have volunteers pack "starter kits." We also provide financial donations through our service and outreach budget and through the Presbytery of the Peaks Two Cents-A-Meal grant program.
